Next Homeware Haul

Next Homeware Haul - Pale Aesthetic

A little homeware haul for you today (Don't be fooled I'm still galavanting around Barcelona)! I have recently discovered the joy that is Next Home, and oh is my bank balance paying for it. It's now way up there on my list with the likes of H&M home, Wilko and Oliver Bonas, as one of my favourite places to fuel my endless love of all things copper and monochrome.

I wanted to show you the 4 pieces I picked up the other week, and also show you where they have ended up around my flat. I love a good nose in someone elses home, and since my last homewear post proved so popular, I thought I would treat you all to another one! Enjoy...

My Trusty 6 Year Old Shirt

My Trusty 6 Year Old Shirt - Pale Aesthetic

My Trusty 6 Year Old Shirt - Pale Aesthetic

As you're reading this, I am currently on a flight to Barcelona for a well needed vacation. Enjoy this brick wall backdrop because this is the last time you will be seeing it for a while because I plan to flood you with nothing but holiday pictures for the next few weeks.

I honestly brought this striped shirt over 6 years ago, it has gone through the trends, and even made it's way from being shunned to a PJ top, back into my wardrobe all over again. It really is my trusty favourite shirt and considering it was something like £10 when I brought it from internationale (is that even a shop anymore?) it has well and truly stood the test of time.

Sadly there will be no links for this outfit, as these jeans are from Primark, this bag is a 2014 purchase from French Connection, these shoes were a cheeky little Kurt Geiger sale find, and of course this shirt is well and truly no longer in store. However, this is one of those outfits that is easy to recreate no matter what the brand, so let me know if you do!

The Perfect Grown Up Heels

The Perfect Grown Up Heels

The Perfect Grown Up Heels

The Perfect Grown Up Heels

The Perfect Grown Up Heels

I've always been a good heel walker, which is kind of a wasted talent considering I'm 5'9. For the past year I've relished in the fact chunky La Moda style sandal heels are fashionable, and avoided anything with any real height. However, I'm a big girl now, with a real job in the big city, so I guess it's time I start dressing like one. My skirts are slowly gaining more length, and I'm at that age (guys I'm only 22 btw!) where things are sometimes 'too young for me'.

With my new found adult hood apparently comes pointed toe, stiletto style heels, and while this makes me feel quite giddy inside, it's also lead me too discover that maybe I'm not the great heels walker I once thought I was, as the stiletto is heel is a completely different ball game to the block heel.

These are my two favourite pairs at the moment, and can you believe it, they are from Dorothy Perkins! I personally feel these could easily pass for a far more expensive pair of heels than they were, and I'm obsessed with them. Unfortunately, although I can run skip and jump in the navy pair, the snake skin ones are more for occasions which require lots of sitting down, unless I'm trying to impersonally a hobbling old pensioner.

P.S. Shout out to my fav little perfume Miss Dior for assisting in my flat lays.

Let's Talk Body Image

Let's Talk Body Image - Pale Aesthetic

Okay, I've got something a little different today, I wasn't sure whether to post this, but with so much uproar around body image at the moment, I wanted to share my opinion on everything, because I have very strong opinions on the issue. I tweeted the other day saying; "In the same way that it's not okay to promote photoshopped underweight girls, I don't think it's okay to glorify obesity." and although I think that sums it up pretty well, let me explain…

We've all been affected by the medias super skinny portrayal of a "beautiful women", which in turn (even if we personally are not offended by it) psychologically makes us believe that's what we want to look like, you may not be someone going to the extremes to make that happen, but it's still something that may cross your mind from time to time when you're looking in the mirror.

However… that image is ridiculed because it's unhealthy, for both the body and the mind, but how is it any healthier to glorify obesity? People deliver hate to skinny girls, that might work actually hard in the gym and lead a purely organic lifestyle but applaud when someone unhealthy exposes themselves for a few minutes in the spotlight. You shouldn't teach your children that they don't need to eat their veg or take part in their physical education classes because they are beautiful no matter what shape they are, this is not a good mind set to have either.

Yes everyone should feel comfortable in their skin, but we need to accept that like everything in life, it's something we have to work at. By all means have massive dessert after your dinner, but maybe accept that means you're eating fruit for breakfast. Snack at your desk while you're trying to meet that massive deadline, but take the stairs instead of the escalator when you're heading for the tube. We should be brought up to accept that everything has to be a bit of give and take, and we need to find a balance, whether you're a size 8 or size 18, everybody's body is different and will respond to things differently, but sadly it's up to you to find out what makes you healthiest from the inside out.

Can we please stop going from one extreme to another, and all just accept a middle ground that we should all be aiming for that's actually personally healthy.

Over The Knee Cold Spring Look

Over The Knee Cold Spring Look -Pale Aesthetic

Over The Knee Cold Spring Look -Pale Aesthetic

Over The Knee Cold Spring Look -Pale Aesthetic

A little transitional outfit for you here. In the U.K. the weather never knows whether it's coming or going, meaning even during spring we have to prepare for the worst. Sometimes that means the sky decides to grace us with an endless stream of rain clouds, other times that means get ready, the entire british summer is coming this week and this week only. Basically you need to stock up on outfits that will stand up against the weathers endless mood swings, although this is a massive woollen jumper, the baggy nature and off the shoulder design means it's actually quite light and airy, and the hat both protects me from rain and shields my eyes from the sun, making this a handy little spring get-up.

I was 100% against the over the knee boots trend, my mind is clearly in the gutter because I still associate them as these tacky, leather, stiletto heel things that a girls wear to advertise their instant availability to men of a less than innocent nature (no hate if you rock them well) but I do like a good pair of cute over the knee socks, and that's what these suede ones remind me of. On top of that the chunky sole makes them far more wearable for me and I feel stylish not slutty.

More Issues Than Vogue

More Issues Than Vogue - Pale Aesthetic

Since moving to London and getting my very own flat, my love for shopping in regards to fashion and beauty, has well and truly translated into homeware. I dread to think of the amount of money I have spent on usual trinkets and milk jugs (I don't even like milk), but I now appreciate things that I never even gave a second thought to, such as hanging pictures on my walls

Now, my flat is rented. Im not exactly rolling in it, so that means I have to put up with horrible magnolia walls (who even paints their walls magnolia these days!?) and not being able to put pins in my wall and hang extravagant canvas. So I began a hunt for some simple typography to add a little something to my bedroom fireplace.

I'm obsessed with copper, which you will well and truly find out in my next few posts, as well as my first youtube video ;) (Stay tuned), so I began a hunt for some copper foil art… I didn't find any. I did however find these little gold beauties from Dottie Rocks on Etsy!

Aren't they stunning. Quotes are sometimes cringey, I'm not exactly ready to post Carpe Diem, or some other motivational cliche all over my walls, but these have just enough fashion influence to work for me, and I defiantly have more issues than vogue. They were a good price and I just picked up some cheap frames from Wilko to finish off the look, what do you think?

Check me out with my regular blogging ay! I'm enjoying this all over again, and even tho I hate being in front of the camera, I'm facing my fear and just doing it.

I used to just write about the brands I loved and my wish lists, but my love has always been for outfit blogs. Those effortless girls, who just look like they're out for a wonder in a stunning neighbourhood and have casually be caught looking incredible on camera... if only!
I'm never gonna be like that, I'm no model, nor do I want to be, however I want to be able to document my style, if for nothing more then a lookbook on those days where I think I have nothing to wear.

The Perfect Bikini - Im Going To Barcelona

The-Perfect-Bikini-Topshop-Pale-Aesthetic

So, I've just booked a holiday to Barcelona (Woohoo), so first things first... bikini shopping!

I'm not much of a bikini hoarder, as I don't generally enjoy swimming or sunbathing, (I'm more of a exploring and shopping kinda holiday gal.) but as Barcelona has the best of both worlds, with an amazing city right next to a beach, I though it was time to get looking.

Now I in no way have these girls figures, but when I stumbled across these I fell in love. I love the slightly sporty look, because traditional looking bikinis bore me, sadly, when I found them they were sold out in my size, but I managed to nab the last striped one in my size in store - never give up hope girls - and it is quite possibly the most flatting bikini I've ever owned. I have no idea why, but something here is working in my favour, and now I'm left resisting wearing this to do a basic food shop.
